The care journey — what patients experienced at each stage
How this patient found the surgeon was not stated in their response.
I felt really heard and listened to. Clare spoke really clearly about the different ways of treating endo and her first line of treatment wasn’t hormones which was really nice to hear. It was lifestyle changes like, sleep, managing stress, exercising ect. I can understand that some people might feel dismissed by this, but it worked really well for me. She always runs late, but I don’t mind as when you’re with her you never feel rushed and she really takes her time to get to the bottom of things.

What could have been better
“Clare is the first person who has listened to and believed my experience of pain, IBS and the impacts endo has on my life. She didn't pressure me into going on the pill, having an IUD or any other treatments that I didn't feel right about. When we were eventually trying treatments I was nervous about, she was very kind and supportive that I was in control and could come off at any time. My case was quite complex and I needed to be rushed into surgery earlier than originally planned, but she handled this with such a calm demeanor, it really helped me feel at ease. I got the feeling she really trusted who she works with, and was very open to referring me to pain specialists, gastroenterologists and other specialists when needed. In my recovery she came in to see me on a Saturday to check on me, and called from home on the Sunday to see how I was going. She is honestly the best healthcare professional I've ever seen, and would recommend her to anyone and everyone.”
